Both, but we recommend only indoors. On a still day, you can fly outdoors, but you will discover its more fun to fly indoors.

How Does The Transmitter Work?

It's a small device with a plug, you stick it into the head jack of your apple device. It sends out a secure Infrared signal to the helicopter. Works really well, no interference. Pretty cool stuff.

Whats The Difference Between This Helicopter and the Syma S111g Coast Guard?

Just the controller. This uses the iphone, s111g has a traditional controller. The helicopters are identical in size and performance.
