Battery Guide
1. Never Overcharge Your Battery
Overcharging the helicopter will damage the cells. Charge the battery only for the recommended time, no longer.
2. Don't Leave Recharging Battery Unattended
Always keep an eye on your helicopter when charging. Never leave your helicopter unattanded whilst charging. Damaged batteries can cause electrical faults and cause fire.
3. Never Over-Discharge Your Battery
This is crucial. Once your helicopter can not lift off the ground, stop flying immediately. Do not continue to try and fly as you will drain the battery and cause damage from overcharging. The damage is irreversible.
4. Cool The Battery After Flying
Let the battery cool for 15mins after flying, then you can begin to recharge. Never recharge the battery immediately after flying, it will damage the cells.
5. Recharge Before Storing Away Your Helicopter.
If you plan on putting your helicopter away for 2 days or more, be sure you recharge the battery before storage. Over time, a stored battery will slowly discharge. If you start with very little charge in the battery, then it will overdischarge on its own.
6. Store In A Cool Dry Place
Do not expose batteries to heat or moisture. Both can be dangerous.
7. Recharge Whenever You Like
Lithium batteries do not suffer from memory problems such as other battery types. They can be recharged from any state, but please remember not to overcharge.
8. Damaged Batteries - Be Very Careful
If your battery becomes damaged orbroken, soak it in salt water and contact your hazardous waste disposal company for advice on removal.
9. Avoid Shorting When Recharging
Connect the charging cable to the power supply first(PC or wall), then connect the cable to the helicopter. This will prevent any shorting that may oocur.
10. Warm Batteries Are Bad
Your battery will get a little hot when flying which is ok. However, if it becomes warm when charging, you are probably damaging the battery. Stop immediately and allow cooling.
11. Take Caution After Crashes
Crashes may damage the battery. After you crash, allow the battery to cool for at least 15 mins. Store the battery in a safe place thereafter and if you notice any damage, replace the battery.
